Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition Confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2

Capcom confirmed during the 9 September 2026 Nintendo Direct that the Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 remakes are coming to Nintendo Switch 2. All three launch digitally on 16 October 2026, with physical Game Card editions planned for 29 January 2027.

Resident Evil 4 arrives as the Gold Edition, bundling the base remake with the Separate Ways story expansion — which puts players in control of Ada Wong — and the Extra DLC Pack. Unlike the original Switch releases of Resident Evil 2 and 3, which relied on cloud streaming, the Switch 2 versions are native ports that run on the hardware and can be played offline.

Capcom says the remake has sold over 10 million units worldwide. The releases round out the series on Switch 2 alongside Resident Evil 7, Village and Requiem, with a remake of Code Veronica planned for 2027.
