Clint and Sandy Confirmed as Stardew Valley 1.7 Marriage Candidates

ConcernedApe confirmed during Stardew Valley's 10th anniversary broadcast on 26 February 2026 that Clint, Pelican Town's blacksmith, and Sandy, who runs the Oasis in the Calico Desert, will become marriageable characters in update 1.7. Both have appeared in the game since launch without a romance route, and the addition has been a long-standing community request.

The update will also rework the game's children, which ConcernedApe has said he wants to make 'a little more interesting' with new interaction opportunities. A new farm type is expected as the traditional addition for a major update, along with more character and social content.

A farm map editor has been floated as a possibility, though ConcernedApe has said he does not know whether it will make the final build. Stardew Valley's previous major update, 1.6, drove a then-record concurrent player count of more than 235,000 on Steam, and the game received a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition in late 2025.
