Sekiro Holds an Overwhelmingly Positive Rating Past 250,000 Reviews

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice continues to hold an 'Overwhelmingly Positive' rating on Steam, with around 95% of more than 251,000 user reviews positive. Released in March 2019, the game remains the most mechanically distinct entry in FromSoftware's catalogue, stripping away the RPG systems of Dark Souls and Elden Ring in favour of posture-based swordplay, precision deflection and the Shinobi Prosthetic.

The game was discounted by 50% on PlayStation and Steam in March 2026, its most recent major promotion.

FromSoftware has not announced a sequel. Alongside the anime adaptation, the studio's attention has been on the Elden Ring: Nightreign spin-off, while speculation about a future Sekiro-style project remains unconfirmed.
