Monster Hunter Wilds Ver. 1.042 Makes Event Quests Playable Offline

Capcom released Monster Hunter Wilds version 1.042 on 4 August 2026. The update, roughly 3.5 GB on each platform, makes all 26 event quests published since launch playable offline — previously they required an internet connection. It also includes stability fixes.

The same week, Capcom launched a free Prologue Demo on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with save data transferable to the full game so new players can carry progress forward. Alongside the update, the company permanently reduced the price of the base edition and revised its special edition and bundle offerings.

The update precedes Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, the game's first major paid expansion, which is scheduled for 2027.
