Free Upgrades Open for GTA V on PC and Older Consoles

Rockstar opened free upgrades for Grand Theft Auto V on 18 June 2026. Players with a PlayStation 4 copy or a digital Xbox One version can upgrade to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S releases at no extra cost, and PC players holding the Legacy version can move to the Enhanced version for free.

The programme arrived alongside a broader content push for GTA Online, which also offered a GTA$2,000,000 discount on luxury Mansion properties for GTA+ members and a limited-time bonus on Shark Card purchases.

GTA V has now been supported across three console generations, with GTA Online remaining one of the most played multiplayer games in the world. The next mainline entry, Grand Theft Auto VI, is scheduled for release on 19 November 2026.
