Stray is a third-person cat adventure game developed by BlueTwelve Studio, a small team based in France, and published by Annapurna Interactive. Lost, alone and separated from its family, a stray cat must untangle an ancient mystery to escape a long-forgotten cybercity and find its way home. Along the journey it meets B-12, a small drone that can translate the robot inhabitants' language and store items, and the pair work together to reach the Outside. The city's neon-drenched alleys and gritty lower levels were inspired by the Kowloon Walled City, and feline behaviours — knocking objects off ledges, napping, scratching, meowing on demand — are built into the gameplay. Stray launched on July 19, 2022 for PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and later came to Xbox (August 2023), Nintendo Switch (2024) and Nintendo Switch 2 (May 28, 2026 edition with 4K support). It runs on Unreal Engine and holds a Metacritic score of 82, with about 96% positive reviews among roughly 178,000 Steam reviews.
