About This Game
Known in Japan as Green Beret, Rush'n Attack sends a lone commando into a chain of military installations with nothing but a bayonet. Enemy soldiers, guard dogs, jeeps and turrets come at you from both sides, and you start out with a knife — a one-hit melee weapon that forces you to close distance before you can fight back.
Weapon crates hidden in certain crates and containers hand out a rocket launcher, grenades and a flamethrower, each limited to the stage you found it in. The game is short but famously unforgiving: one hit kills, the timer is tight, and the later bases demand memorised routes rather than reactions.
- Bayonet-first run-and-gun combat with one-hit deaths
- Limited-use weapon pickups: rocket launcher, grenades, flamethrower
- Military base stages with turrets, dogs and armoured vehicles
- Famicom version of Konami's 1985 arcade hit Green Beret

Tips & Strategy
Attack while moving forward
The knife has almost no reach, so the safe rhythm is to press attack at the exact moment you step into an enemy — you can kill a soldier while barely stopping. Standing still to fight gets you shot from behind.
Pause before the rocket soldiers fire
Rocket-firing soldiers telegraph with a distinct stance. Kill them from below or above rather than head-on, or jump over the missile — the projectile travels in a straight line and never turns.
Save rockets for the vehicles
Weapon crates are rare and stage-limited. Spend the rocket launcher on jeeps and gun emplacements that the knife cannot reach, and keep the knife for infantry you can approach from behind.
