About This Game

Circus Charlie is Konami's charming score-attack game about a circus performer working through five classic acts: riding a leaping horse over trampolines and fire hoops, jumping lion-to-lion over fire pits, tightrope walking past acrobats, trampoline bouncing between monkey-throwers, and ball-hopping across a pool while juggling.

Every act repeats with rising speed and nastier stage furniture, and the scoring system rewards risk — the longer you delay a jump to hit the tightest timing window, the more points the act is worth. It became a staple of the Chinese and Japanese multicart era precisely because the rules take ten seconds to learn and a lifetime to perfect.

  • Five distinct circus acts, each with its own control rhythm
  • Risk-reward scoring that pays for delayed, tighter jumps
  • Endlessly escalating difficulty loops per act
  • One-hit-deaths and instant restarts keep sessions fast

Tips & Strategy

Jump late for points, early for safety

Timing windows shrink as acts repeat. When the act is new, jump early and bank safety; once you have the rhythm, hold the jump a fraction longer for the higher score tier.

Watch the second fire hoop on the horse act

The double fire hoops demand a longer airborne arc than the singles. Delay the trampoline takeoff slightly and keep the horse's landing spot past the second hoop in mind before you commit.

On the trampoline act, do not chase monkeys

The monkey-throwing clowns get faster every loop. It is better to hold a stable bounce pattern and accept a few hits than to chase every thrown object — one wrong landing ends the run instantly.
